Plan your Australian nursing applications: understand NMBA registration, check sponsorship wording and present your clinical experience accurately. Explore current vacancies when you are ready to search.
Working in Australia
Nurses must hold registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia (NMBA) before practising. Ahpra manages applications, and internationally qualified nurses begin with the official self-check before following the assessment pathway assigned to them. Registration and immigration are separate processes. Employer-sponsored options may include the Skills in Demand visa (subclass 482) or other skilled pathways, but eligibility depends on the applicant, occupation, and employer.
Application preparation
Use the published role and current official requirements as your source of truth, then present your experience accurately.
