Working in New Zealand
Nurses must be registered with the Nursing Council of New Zealand (NCNZ) and hold an annual practising certificate before practising. NCNZ assesses internationally qualified nurses and may require a competence assessment that includes a theoretical examination and clinical OSCE. Immigration pathways are separate: eligible Green List roles can support residence pathways only when the applicant also meets the current job-offer, registration, pay, and other visa requirements.
Application preparation
Use the published role and current official requirements as your source of truth, then present your experience accurately.
GoToCV surfaces sponsorship signals and helps prepare editable application drafts. It does not assess NCNZ eligibility, confirm registration outcomes, guarantee employer sponsorship, or guarantee an interview or job offer. Always confirm requirements with NCNZ and Immigration New Zealand.
